You are invited to attend the launch of Norm Klassen’s book “The Fellowship of the Beatific Vision: Chaucer on Overcoming Tyranny and Becoming Ourselves” on Friday, March 24th at 7:00pm at the Newman Centre Guelph, 325 Gordon Street, Guelph, with parking from Dean Avenue. The program includes a Medieval harp performance by Hanna Caruso, interview with Norm, a reading and a social.

Vigil of the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas

In honour of the upcoming Memorial Feast of Saint Thomas Aquinas, and to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, the Communio Circle of the Diocese of Hamilton and the Cantualis Chant Choir present an evening of hymns composed by St. Thomas for the Feast of Corpus Christi along with commentary by choir director David Hall on Friday, January 27th at 7:00pm at the Newman Centre Guelph, 325 Gordon Street, Guelph, with parking off of Dean Avenue. We will begin with Evening Prayer for the vigil of the feast in the Oratory and a social in the lounge with refreshments will follow.

A Reflection on the Canticle of Zechariah

The following is a reflection on the Canticle of Zechariah (Luke 2:68–79), which one says as part of Morning Prayer. The meditation proceeds line by line, and usually phrase by phrase. It is based on the Latin, which I wanted to memorize for the historical influence of the text, but the Latin is so bite-sized that anyone can follow along.
